Colombia & Panama Take Steps Towards Signing FTA

As efforts to materialize an agreement between Colombia and Panama continue, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Vélez emphasizes the importance of an integral treaty consisting of free trade, investment promotion and security, and double taxation.

Successful financial and trade relations between the two countries could serve as a benchmark for other similar agreements in Latin America. The treaty is expected to be signed within the next few weeks.
